The Journey

The summer of 1964, was the first time Abraham (originally Mohamed) purchased his first camera. It was a Brownie box camera from a street vendor in Ismaielia, Egypt. Abraham quickly and happily bought film and began taking pictures. When it was time to have the film developed, the studio owner said he couldn't develop the pictures. There was light leaking into the camera effecting the film. Abraham then asked the man if he could see those pictures so he could figure out where the light was coming from.  Abraham went home determined to fix the hole in his camera. The following day Abraham returned to the studio owner with new film in hand to be developed. The studio owner asked " Did you fix the camera?" Abraham proudly said "YES!" The studio owner was so impressed with Abraham's determination and enthusiasm.  He asked Abraham if he would be interested in coming to his studio after school to learn the art of photography. And so, it was here that Abraham began his lifelong passion with his camera and all aspects of developing and retouching photographs.
